Hiroshima, Hiroshima Peace Park and Miyajima.

A picture of the Children's Memorial within the Peace Park. The monument was built in memory of Sadako, the famous child who folded over 1000 paper cranes, because she believed if she folded all 1000 that she would be cured of the cancer that she received from the blast. 1000 paper cranes are placed at the base of this monument daily by school kids from all around the world in memory of Sadako.

A picture of the famous Hiroshima Castle.

A picture of the famous dome at ground zero in Hiroshima. This building is the only remaining building from the blast. There have been two renovation projects to help keep the dome standing. It is left standing as an ongoing reminder of the worst devastation from mankind that the world has ever seen or known. It was recently added to the World Cultural Heritage.

A picture from Miyajima. Miyajima is known as one of the three most scenic sites in Japan. The shrine and torii are built in the water, so that when the tide is in it appears that they are floating in the water.
